Description
Calcium carbonate
White or grayish white powder, odorless and odorless, easy to absorb odor, stable in the air, almost insoluble in water and ethanol, slightly hygroscopic, soluble in enoic acid (acetic acid, dilute hydrochloric acid, dilute nitric acid) and producing CO2. It is insoluble in dilute sulfuric acid and can be divided into three types according to powder size: heavy calcium carbonate (30-50 µ m), light calcium carbonate (5 µ m), and colloidal calcium carbonate (0.03-0.05 µ m).
